VALIDATING STREET AND MARKET VENDORS’ WORK ON LABOUR DAY 

International labour day, also known as May Day is a celebration of workers’ rights and achievements. street and market vendors play a significant role in the informal economy and often face unique challenges. they contribute to localeconomies in various ways and recognizing their contributions through ensuring their rights is an important aspect of promoting fair and inclusive labour practices. This year, similar to previous years, street and market vendors will be represented in the international labour day in kigali-Rwanda. the topic of the day is ” 30 years: youth in job/ labour creation”.

Childcare centers have been playing a crucial role in supporting  street and market vendors in their work. The safe and naturing environment provided for children allows street and market vendors to work more efficiently and contribute to their communities while ensuring their children are well taken care of. Childcare services promotes a healthy work-life balance for street and market vendors while also aligning with the spirit of labour day by valuing and supporting the workforce.
